2. Collecting your information
We may collect your personally identifiable information that you voluntarily submit to us when you access our App or Website including, but not limited to, your full name, email address, ID number, location data, credit/debit card details and contact number, in order to create an account with us (and take out an insurance policy with the insurer). You can refuse to supply this information. If you refuse, you may not be able to engage in certain App- and Website-related activities.
We may collect non-personally identifiable information about you whenever you access our App or Website. You warrant that any and all information you submit is current and accurate and you consent to us using your information for the purpose of which it is disclosed.
3. Using your information
In respect of aggregate or anonymous information, we and third parties may use such information.
4. Sharing your information
We may share your personal information with third parties with your consent or in order to provide our products and services to you as detailed above or as required by law. Third parties must be committed to standards at least equal to ours.
We share your personal information with the insurer Constantia Insurance Company Limited (an authorised financial services provider, FSP 31111) who underwrites the JaSure Personal Assets Policy, as required by law. If you choose to enter into an insurance contract, you agree to the processing of your personal information as disclosed in the Disclosure Notice attached to your Policy Schedule and the policies of Constantia Insurance Company Limited (www.constantiagroup.co.za).
We share your credit/debit card details with the payment processor PayGate (Pty) Ltd (www.paygate.co.za) who stores the details. We do not store your debit/credit card details.
5. Retaining your information
Following the end of your JaSure Personal Assets Policy (instructed by you or us), we shall retain your personal information for data analysis to improve our products and services for customers; and to continue marketing our products and services to you (you may unsubscribe from such communications). If you request the deletion of your personal information, we shall anonymise this information for ongoing use of the data. However, we shall retain your personal information for access by the insurer for a minimum of 5 (five) years following the end of your JaSure Personal Assets Policy, as required by law.
6. Protecting your information
We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorised access to and processing of your personal information, password and data stored by our App and Website. You agree that it is your responsibility to keep the password you use to access your account confidential. Your credit/debit card details are securely stored separately by the payment processor PayGate (Pty) Ltd (www.paygate.co.za).
7. Data breach
In the event of a data breach that includes your personal information, we shall notify you as soon as reasonably possible; and we require that you assist to mitigate your loss and follow any instructions provided by us.
8. Accessing and amending your information
You can view your personal and other information using our App. You agree that it is your responsibility to keep all information you submit up to date. You can edit fields as indicated in our App or contact us to update non-editable fields (see ‘Contacting us’ below for contact details). You can delete and add new credit/debit cards using our App.
10. Third party websites
You may find content on our Website that links to the websites and products or services of third parties. We do not control or review the content or links that appear thereon, nor are we responsible for the practices of websites linked to or from our Website. Your use of any other website is subject to that website’s terms and conditions and policies.
We are a South African company currently targeting South Africans. If you are protected by GDPR, please contact us in advance of accessing the JaSure App.
